Usage

Triethylene glycol is an important intermediate product in the chemical industry, for example in the production of polyester resins. Triethylene glycol is also used as an odour neutraliser (Air Sanitiser). Triethylene glycol has a drying effect on the room air and at the same time inhibits bacteria, as the dehydrating property causes bacteria that come into contact with TEG in the air to dry out and die. TEG is also used in brake and hydraulic systems and in the dehumidification and drying of natural gas extracted offshore.
