Brake fluids

DOT 3, DOT 4, DOT 5.1

As a distributor of brake fluids (DOT 3, DOT 4, DOT 4 LV or DOT 5.1), we supply you with bulk goods in tankers or packed in IBCs at competitive prices. The different grades essentially differ in boiling temperature, wet boiling point and viscosity. Our brake fluids are characterised by optimum ABS properties and comparatively high boiling points as well as comparatively low viscosities that exceed the requirements of the United States Department of Transportation (DOT). In addition, our brake fluids meet or exceed the following internationally recognised standards for brake fluids: SAE J1703, SAE J1704, FMVSS 116 and ISO 4925

PRODUCT DETAILS

General

Brake fluid is a hydraulic fluid used in hydraulic vehicle brakes. The task of the brake fluid is to transfer the force exerted by the driver on the pedal to the wheel brake. The boiling point and viscosity of the liquid play an important role.
If the water content in the brake fluid is too high (brake fluid is strongly hygroscopic, i.e. brake fluid actively attracts water), the boiling point of the brake fluid can drop too much. This creates the risk of steam bubbles forming in the braking system that can be compressed when the pedal is depressed. The possible consequence could be a total failure of the brake system. To ensure a safe brake system, it is therefore very important to have the brake fluid tested annually and changed according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
